Reflexology

Refloxology - Massaging pressure points in the feet

Reflexology is an ancient holistic, complementary therapy used to aid recovery and maintain health.

This treatment is based on the theory that certain reflex points on the feet and hands directly and specifically correspond to certain organs and systems within the body.

By putting pressure on specific areas reflexology promotes health through unlocking energetic pathways and rebalancing systems.

People receive reflexology for many different reasons including; stress, hormonal imbalance, digestive disorders, back pain and for overall well being.

Reflexology promotes relaxation, improves circulation and reduces pain as well as encouraging the body’s own natural healing and maintenance. It is suitable for all ages and you are fully clothed with the exception of your shoes and socks.

A session generally lasts for one hour and is tailored to the specific needs of the person. For more information about reflexology please do not hesitate to contact me.

What does stress have to do with it?

Stress can often be the underlying cause of some problems you may be having. By having everyday stress in your life the body is not able to concentrate on other problems you may be experiencing.

Having cumulative stress makes it even more difficult for the body to return to its homeostatic state and so 80%‐90% of illnesses are caused by stress. When dealing with minor everyday stresses the body can’t cope and so the digestive and cardiovascular systems suffer.

Stress does not enable the body to concentrate on healing itself. This can create a vicious cycle as people often get stressed from not feeling well! Reflexology can relieve the effects of stress by relaxing tension and reducing cardiovascular constriction.

By improving circulation blood and nerve supply can flow more freely to the cells that require them. By putting pressure on specific areas of the feet reflexology can restore the lost balance and enable the body to go back to its natural state of calm.

Testimonials

“I recently went to see Margaret with neck tension and headaches, hoping that craniosacral therapy would make me feel better and more positive.

Margaret thoroughly explained what she was doing having listened to my concerns with respect. Tension quickly eased and I immediately felt refreshed and relaxed. The tension headaches have finally disappeared”.
